Our audience was treated to a local literary event par excellence. Both authors had based their books around the local area and, whilst they couldn’t have been more different in content, they were both interesting, informative and entertaining. Jon chatted about how he got his ideas for ‘The Man on Hackpen Hill’, his research and his writing technique. Charlie, by contrast, spoke of how bird song helped him cope with the untimely death of his mother and, in the process, made him realise that, as a nation, we have lost our connection with nature and its extraordinary healing power.
