Local authors Barney Norris, Frances Liardet and Jon Stock will be talking about their new novels at a special Christmas event in The Old Dairy Barn.
Barney Norris grew up in Salisbury and is on of the UK’s most talked about novelists and playwright. He is the author of 3 novels, the first: FIVE RIVERS MEET ON A WOODED PLAIN was set in Salisbury, the second in the Hampshire village of Penton Mewsey. His third, THE VANISHING HOURS tells the story of two strangers meeting by chance in a hotel bar in a quiet English town, and the stories they share.
Frances Liardet‘s new novel WE MUST BE BRAVE is set in the Hampshire village of Upton, and spans the sweep of the twentieth century, ‘a rich portrait of country life before and during the war’ The Times. Frances read Arabic at Oxford, was a translator in Cairo and now lives in Somerset, where she hosts Creative Writing courses.
Jon Stock lives near Marlborough, is ex editor of The Daily Telegraph Weekend section, and is the author of 5 spy thrillers under his own name. His latest is under his nom de plume, J. S. Monroe, and is called FORGET MY NAME: a gripping thriller with a shocking twist you won’t see coming.
Charles Magnay is the author of CATTLE CLASS Commuter Tips for the Unwary, a collection of anecdotes from a commuting life.
All the authors will be talking about their writing, there will be a chance to ask them questions, and of course, get books signed!
