
About Books at the Barn
Books at the Barn is a series of Author Talks. It is based in an old dairy barn on a farm in the village of Hatherden, just outside Andover in Hampshire. It was started in 2012 by Louisa Symington, ex-Publicist from Penguin Books, and Sarah O’Rorke, of Forton Fine Art, www.fortonfineart.co.uk
Talks are held at The Old Dairy, Hatherden, Hampshire and at Farleigh School. Books at the Barn has hosted author events with: Jeremy Bowen, Lucy Worsley, Martin Clunes, Clare Balding, Frank Gardner, Raynor Winn, William Dalrymple, Tracy Chevalier, Earl Spencer, Robert Harris, Chloe Dalton and Lady Carnarvon.
.Books are sold by Waterstones Winchester. Our venue is 10 minutes drive from Andover station, just over one hour’s train ride from London. We are 30 minutes drive from Salisbury and Winchester.
We also have partner venues: Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire and Eastmanton House in Sparsholt in Oxfordshire.
